Yuchisoft V. International Printing Technologies Symposium

The "5th International Printing Technologies Symposium", which addressed the technologies, academic studies and industry transformation topics shaping the future of the printing and packaging industry, was held on 14–15 May 2026 at the Dragos Campus, hosted by the Printing Technologies Department of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Marmara University.

Held every two years and bringing together academics, researchers, students, industry professionals and stakeholder organisations on a national and international scale, the symposium made a significant contribution to the evaluation of current developments in printing technologies within a scientific framework.

Throughout the symposium, expert participants addressed many critical topics shaping the future of the industry, including digital printing technologies, artificial intelligence supported production systems, web-to-print applications, sustainable printing solutions, smart factories, colour management, quality control systems and digital transformation processes.

Data-driven production approaches, automation technologies and next-generation printing solutions developed with a focus on Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 were among the most prominent topics of the symposium.

Academics, researchers and industry representatives from Türkiye as well as from other countries came together in important sessions to share knowledge, develop joint fields of work and strengthen university–industry collaboration.

The symposium also created a valuable scientific sharing environment for young researchers and students. Oral and poster presentations enabled students to share their academic work, while also offering them important opportunities to interact directly with industry professionals.

Believing that the future of the printing and packaging industry will be shaped not only by production technologies but also by skilled human resources, digital competence and a sustainable vision, Yuchisoft regards such academic organisations as a strategic value for the development of the industry.

According to research published by Smithers, the packaging sector is expected to account for around two thirds of the global print market by 2030. Given the strong position of Türkiye in packaging production and exports, the importance of academic and industry work in printing technologies, digitalisation and sustainable production grows further every day.

We believe that the 5th International Printing Technologies Symposium held in this context will make significant contributions to the development of the industry, to the production of academic knowledge and to the wider adoption of new-generation technologies.
